Load Your Film Correctly

To use your Fujifilm INSTAX camera, you’ll of course need film. INSTAX film cartridges must be inserted in a specific way — luckily, it’s very simple. One side of the cassette has a small yellow mark, and the inside of the camera features a yellow dot. Align the yellow mark with the yellow dot and your film will be loaded correctly.

Once the film is inserted, take a photo right away. This ejects the protective cover so you won’t accidentally waste a precious photo moment later.

Avoid Ruined Photos

Once your film is loaded, do not open the back of your camera until you’ve used up the entire cassette. Opening the camera early exposes unused film to light, which will damage it — and your first few photos will be unusable.

If you continue shooting with exposed film, your pictures may not develop properly. You may only open the back of the camera when the counter shows “S”, indicating that all frames have been used.

Choose the Right Film Format

Each INSTAX camera model uses a specific film format. There are Mini, Square, and Wide cameras, and each requires matching paper.

• Don’t stand too close or too far from your subject (ideal distance: 60 cm to 1.5 m)
  
• Use the close-up mode if you want to shoot from as little as 30 cm
