The Nikon Z6 II: out and about with Jarno Schurgers

The sportiest of cameras

There are many sports photographers, but only a few can call themselves action sports photographers and get to shoot at the coolest sporting events. He has had the pleasure of working with Max Verstappen, Tess Wester and other big sports heroes. We're talking about Jarno Schurgers. We went out with him and talked to him about the Nikon Z6 II.

Jarno Schurgers

His passion for sports and action photography started because he does extreme sports himself, such as snowboarding, skateboarding and motocross. And how! This photographer not only works with great brands, such as Honda Motor Europe and Teva, but also with big names such as our own Dutch heroes Kjeld Nuis and Irene Schouten. His work takes him all over the world, resulting in beautiful and inspiring photos.

We became curious about Jarno, so we went out with him to try out the Nikon Z6 II together. Before we show you the full review, let's first look at what kind of camera the Nikon Z6 II is.

The Nikon Z6 II

When you say Nikon Z6 II, we say: power! This camera uses two processors, giving you super-fast autofocus and fast image processing. Thanks to the powerful buffer, you can capture up to 200 JPEG files and 124 12-bit compressed RAW files in a single burst. In other words, these DUAL EXPEED processors push your write speeds to the maximum, so you don't have to miss a single moment.

Large Z mount: more light, highest image quality

With a diameter of 55mm, the Z mount is the largest full-frame mount of any camera system. That makes the Z mount the new industry benchmark. A larger mount means more light, and more light means even higher image quality.

Autofocus

The Nikon Z6 II has 273 focus points, precisely calibrated so you can perform. Lock your focus onto a moving subject, and the focus will stay on your chosen subject. This works for both people and animals in photo and video mode. The camera automatically returns to the selected focus point when it is reactivated from standby.

Ergonomics

Nikon listens to and thinks along with today's photographers. The camera has a deep grip, so it not only sits comfortably in your hand but can also be used for longer periods. The buttons have been placed with great care accordingly. Want to read more about the Nikon Z6 II or the Nikon Z series?
