Description
Bresser Startracker Astro Photo Mount PM-100
The Bresser Startracker Astro Photo Mount PM-100 is suitable for both beginners and advanced users in astrophotography. The built-in tracking motor rotates the mount-mounted camera exactly against the rotation of the Earth, keeping the stars in shape even at long exposures.
But which cameras are in principle suitable for use with the Bresser Startracker Astro Photo Mount PM-100? We know the answer to that! All cameras with a ¼”(6.3mm) tripod connection thread and on cameras that have a mode (B/Bulb) for long exposures. The Bresser Startracker Astro Photo Mount PM-100 can carry a camera with a lens, with a maximum total weight of 2 kg, in the polar track mode. A total load capacity of up to 5 kg is also possible in Azimuth mode.
Wide-angle lenses with a large aperture are ideal to start with, as the requirements for tracking accuracy increase with increasing focal length and exposure time. For example, a shot with a wide-angle lens can be exposed for up to a few minutes and the stars remain point-shaped without any problems. After setting up the light and compact StarTracker mount, simply set the approximate latitude (pole height) and align it with the star Polaris. Then mount the camera with lens using the quick release plate on the supplied ball head. With the ball head, the camera can be aligned and determined at any time, on any part of the starry sky. Once the tracking motor is engaged, the long exposure can be started immediately.
The tracking is performed by a precise stepper motor, which can be controlled and set by a simple digital adjustment on the LCD screen. Low power consumption allows up to 20 hours of use with just one set of batteries or simply use the micro USB port for an unlimited power supply.
