The Nikkor AF-S 70-200mm F2.8E FL ED VR is indispensable for any photographer who works with one of Nikon's (semi-) professional SLRs. Whether you're a sport, action, news or report photographer, this version of this renowned lens houses various improvements that make a big difference. In combination with the VR SPORT mode, enhanced AF tracking and exposure control allow for very quick snapshots. Compared with its predecessor, performance has improved in the extreme corners of the image and vignetting is reduced. The closest focus distance is now only 1.1m and the maximum reproduction ratio is increased from 0.11x to 0.21x. Also, programmable buttons are now placed on the lens cylinder. Until now, these have been found solely on super telephoto lenses and offer additional ease of use for the professional. In addition, the zoom and focus ring have been swapped to improve the balance. Thanks to the new magnesium alloy cylinder plus HRI and fluorite elements, this lens is lighter than ever, while the construction has remained as robust as before.
