The Panasonic Lumix DC-GH5S mirrorless camera is an exceptional camera for shooting stills and videos and with the new video recording capabilities and improved image quality designed and developed for professional filmmakers. Where the Lumix GH5 was the first mirrorless camera in the world to record 4K 60p/50p video, the GH5S reaches a new milestone in this area. With the GH5S it is now possible to make 4K 60p/50p video recordings in Cinema 4K (4096x2160) image quality. In addition, 4:2:2 10-bit recording to make colours appear even more faithfully. Furthermore, there is no time limit for recording Full HD and 4K videos, that is, until the memory card is full or the camera battery is empty.

The VFR (Variable Frame Rate) function allows you to shoot overcranked (for slow-motion effect) and undercranked (for fast-motion effect) in C4K/4K (60 fps, up to 2.5x slower in 24p) or Full-HD (240 fps, up to 10x slower). Thanks to DFD (Depth From Defocus) technology and super-fast processing of the digital signal, the GH5S has a fast autofocus of approximately 0.07 seconds and it is possible to shoot fast burst shooting at 12 (AFS) / 8 (AFC) fps in 12-bit RAW and 11 (AFS)/7 (AFC) fps in 14-bit RAW. You can also use the well-known 4K Photo function to capture images at 60 fps, and then select the perfect photo with a resolution of approximately 8 megapixels.

As a camera that excels at shooting in low light, the GH5S is equipped with a number of features that make this possible. For example, Live View Boost is a practical function to increase the sensitivity and the magnification factor in MF Assist has been increased from standard 10x to 20x, which is especially useful for astronomy photography. In addition, the red menu in night mode offers a muted backlight so that you can still see the subject clearly.

The Lumix GH5S features a large LVF (Live View Finder) with an impressively large magnification ratio of approximately 1.52/0.76x (35 mm camera equivalent) that displays images smoothly at 120 fps. The highly accurate and fast OLED display has a resolution of 3,680,000 pixels and offers a 100% field of view. In addition to the control buttons, the camera also has a joystick that provides intuitive and flexible operation. The camera is very robust thanks to the fully die-cast aluminium alloy frame, which makes it not only splash- and dust-proof, but also frost-resistant down to -10 degrees Celsius. The GH5S has two SD memory card slots that are compatible with high-speed, high-capacity UHS-II cards with video speed class V60. Finally, the camera is equipped with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, so you can easily connect to a smartphone or tablet and share your images quickly and easily.

The Panasonic MFT 14-42 mm f/3.5-5.6 HD II is a standard zoom lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras. The lens has a versatile zoom range (35 mm equivalent: 28-84 mm) and is therefore suitable for shooting a variety of subjects. Thanks to the built-in MEGA OIS image stabilisation, hand movements are reduced and the chance of motion blur is considerably smaller. The autofocus of the Panasonic 14-42 mm HD II is also lightning-fast. The lens has a stepping motor that, with a contrast autofocus system, is able to capture both still and moving images razor-sharp.
