In addition to being able to create your own presets, you can also choose to download the presets via the LUMIX Lab app. Your recordings can be transferred quickly and easily to your smartphone thanks to the improved connection speed and stability. A new recording format is used for this: MP4 Lite. This is an Open Gate video mode optimized for smartphones. Your photo or video will be online within 30 seconds, exactly the way you want it.

Extend your reach with crop and hybrid zoom

You can expand the zoom range of the Panasonic S9 while maintaining image quality. This is possible with the crop zoom function and the hybrid zoom function. The crop zoom function uses the centre of the camera sensor to extend the normal zoom range. The hybrid zoom function uses both the optical and crop zoom to further increase the focal length.

The Lumix S 20-60mm F/3.5-5.6 has a minimum focusing distance of only 15 centimetres and you can also capture smooth video images without any problems. This is made possible by a mechanism that ensures suppression of focus breathing. The optical construction consists of 11 lenses in 9 groups and the use of two aspherical lenses and three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses suppresses both axial chromatic aberration and chromatic aberration due to magnification. The aspherical lenses also correct for astigmatism, delivering extremely clear images. In addition, a UHR (Ultra-High Refractive Index) lens ensures uniform image quality from the centre to the edges of the image. This lens is easy to carry due to its weight of only 350 grams and the design is also dust and splash-proof. A fluorine coating on the front element repels water and oil and prevents these substances from adhering to the lens.
