This two-stop B+W neutral density filter (log D = 0.6) is rightly very popular in photography. It does a great deal — for example, allowing you to achieve selective depth of field at f/4 instead of f/8, or to turn a frozen waterfall back into a flowing one with a shutter speed of 1/15 s. instead of 1/60 s. It still delivers excellent, neutral colour rendering and costs less than the even denser ND filters. We recommend it as essential kit. Filter factor 4.
Care:
Only clean B+W filters guarantee that the high material and manufacturing quality can result in perfect image quality. The hard, water- and dirt-repellent MRC multi-coating helps you keep your B+W filters free from scratches and contamination. If, despite your care, dust, water or dirt still needs to be removed, please bear the following rules in mind: never wipe dust and dirt away dry — there may be tiny quartz particles present that are much harder than glass and can scratch it like a diamond. First blow away the dust with a blower brush, then wipe the misted glass with gentle pressure using a soft cloth — ideally the microfibre cleaning cloth "Photoclear". For stubborn dirt, a little breath moisture is an excellent solvent — always to hand and free from abrasives, oils and aggressive chemical substances. Never use a paper tissue for cleaning, as it tends to leave lint and the paper fibres cling to the glass due to electrostatic charge. The extremely hard, water- and dirt-repellent MRC coating enhances the protective effect of these B+W filters.
B+W Nano Filter
B+W has been a leading name in filters for photographic applications since 1947. The camera filters are still produced entirely in Germany and belong to the optical top class. A camera filter of better quality barely exists!

The quality of the filter is assured by very strict inspection throughout the entire production process. This has made B+W the market leader in camera filters. The premium and professional line
B+W distinguishes between the premium line and the professional line. The premium line is characterised by a very slim XS-Pro Digital mount and an MRC nano coating. The professional line generally consists of camera filters with a slightly thicker F-Pro mount and is available with either a single-layer or MRC coating. In all cases, the camera filters are made with great passion and precision at the Schneider Optische Werke factory in Bad Kreuznach, Germany.
