Blackmagic PYXIS 12K
The Blackmagic PYXIS 12K Cinema Box Camera combines a full-frame 12K RGBW sensor that captures rich colours and accurate skin tones with the compact, versatile design of the PYXIS 6K camera. It features a Leica L Lens mount, a 36x24mm sensor, a wide dynamic range of 16 stops and customisable side plates.
The PYXIS 12K's huge 24x36mm full-frame RGBW sensor has a native resolution of 12,288 x 8040, allowing you to create a shallow depth-of-field or use anamorphic lenses without cropping for a truly cinematic look. A dynamic range of 16 stops with dual-native ISO up to 25,600 ensures low-noise images in all lighting conditions.
Work with different film formats and aspect ratios without compromising on quality, thanks to the large sensor. You can also work in true 6:5 anamorphic aspect ratios without cropping for widescreen bios. Use a Super 35 window to create an instant close-up of your open-gate shot.
Shoot in standard video resolutions and frame rates from HD to 12K with the PYXIS 12K, with the option to record in 12K, 8K or 4K at full sensor size. Available resolutions include up to 40 fps at 12,288 x 8040 3:2 open-gate, 60 fps at 12,288 x 5112 2.4:1 and 112 fps at 8192 x 3408 8K. There is even an HFR (high frame rate) button to quickly switch to your frame rate without having to open the menu.
The wide dynamic range of 16 stops retains more detail in both the lightest and darkest parts of your photo. Set the exposure for an indoor shot and preserve details in bright outdoor light falling through a window. Optimised for ISO 800, the PYXIS 12K offers ISO values from 200 to 3200 and a maximum ISO of 25,600. This minimises noise and grain in your photos, while maintaining the sensor's full dynamic range.
