Colbor CL220M COB video light
The Colbor CL220M COB video light is part of the Colbor CL220 series and is a brand-new LED lamp with continuous light for photography, delivering a constant output of 220 W — an essential option for content creators, videographers and filmmakers. The new bead mounting technology, robust metal construction and stable power supply enable a constant output of 220 W at any colour temperature. The Bowens mount, NATO compatibility, accessory expansion options and power flexibility open up even more lighting possibilities.
The Colbor CL220M has a fixed colour temperature of 5600K. The fixture maintains the same output of 220 W throughout, eliminating any concerns about inconsistent light intensity and allowing you to focus entirely on your production.
With the included standard reflector, the CL220M delivers a powerful 58,100 lux daylight-balanced beam at 5600K at a distance of 1 metre.
The all-new bead mounting technology effectively reduces heat from the lamp beads, and the double-sided coated optical glass on the surface of the beads allows light to pass through efficiently. This helps maintain brightness and colour accuracy, resulting in a durable CRI of 97+.
The fixture is constructed from aluminium alloy, which — combined with a surface oxidation treatment and texture process — gives the CL220M LED continuous light outstanding reliability. Despite this robust build, the fixture weighs just 1.57 kg, making it 50% lighter than comparable fixtures with the same output.²
The NTC thermistor (Negative Temperature Coefficient) and PWM control (Pulse Width Modulation) work together in an intelligent mode, allowing the built-in fan to monitor the COB light temperature and adjust automatically to keep the fixture properly cooled. Should the fixture overheat, a self-protection mechanism activates to prevent accidents.
The copper heatsink-based dissipation system ensures that thermal energy from the COB is transported and dissipated quickly and efficiently. The improved FDB (Fluid Dynamic Beating) in the cooling fan runs much more quietly and significantly reduces high-frequency mechanical noise. As a result, the CL220 series maintains a balance between high output (220 W) and low noise levels (28 dB ±2 dB at 1 m), even when the ambient temperature reaches 35 °C.
The universal Bowens mount is compatible with a wide range of light modifiers, such as the Colbor BP90. The standard NATO slot accommodates a broad selection of NATO accessories and, together with the included NATO extension bar, various photography accessories such as stabilisers to expand your camera rig. Unlike the CL60 series, the NQD1 accessories are required to combine two or more lights to build the PowerCube.
