Optically, this 18mm features a design of 15 elements in 12 groups, including aspherical elements that effectively reduce distortion, chromatic aberration and contrast loss. The result is a sharp, controlled image right into the corners, with consistent colour rendering that matches perfectly with other focal lengths in the Vespid Prime 2 series. This makes it easy to swap lenses without noticeable differences in look.
Thanks to floating elements, image quality remains strong even at short focusing distances. With a minimum focus distance of just 0.25 metres, you can create close wide shots that give extra emphasis to the foreground. Combined with minimal focus breathing, the angle of view stays stable during focus pulls, making this lens highly suitable for moving shots and narrative camera work.
