The Hoya 46mm R72 infrared filter is a specialist filter used for infrared photography with digital cameras and dedicated infrared film. This near-opaque filter blocks all visible light up to 720nm, making it possible to capture subjects and scenes that are not visible under normal conditions. Due to the nature of infrared photography, the filter factor of this filter is highly variable and depends largely on the ISO sensitivity used and the lighting conditions. This filter is made from high-quality optical glass with an aluminium ring for extra protection of the glass.
