The Hoya 49mm YA3 Pro is an orange filter that ensures that the contrast is increased when you photograph or film with a black and white film. When shooting with this filter in combination with black and white film, green, blue and violet coloured subjects are reproduced in dark shades of gray. At the same time, yellow, orange, and red subjects are displayed in light shades of gray. In black and white photography, the YA3 Pro filter creates dark skies with highly defined clouds and reduces the visibility of freckles and skin blemishes. In addition, this filter can minimize the presence of haze caused by the bluish glow of daylight.

To prevent effects such as ghosting and reflections, each glass surface has three layers of anti-reflective coating.
