The Hoya 52mm YA3 Pro is an orange filter that increases contrast when shooting or filming with black-and-white film. When shooting with this filter in combination with black-and-white film, green, blue and violet coloured subjects are reproduced in dark grey tones. At the same time, yellow, orange and red subjects are rendered in light grey tones. In black-and-white photography, the YA3 Pro filter produces dark skies with well-defined clouds, and the visibility of freckles and skin blemishes is reduced. In addition, this filter can minimise the presence of haze caused by the bluish glow of daylight.

To prevent effects such as ghosting and reflections, each glass surface features three layers of anti-reflection coating. These coatings therefore offer better protection and help keep the filter clean for longer. This Hoya 52mm YA3 Pro colour filter is made from optical glass for optimum clarity, and it features an aluminium alloy filter ring, making it both durable and lightweight.
