Hoya Variable Density II

The Hoya Variable Density II filter is a solid variable neutral density filter that delivers an exposure reduction of approximately 1.5 to 9 stops. The biggest improvement over the previous model is that operation has been enhanced with a rotatable frame and a convenient knob. The density of 0.45 to 2.77 darkens the entire image, allowing you to shoot with a wider aperture or a longer shutter speed than would normally be required. The density level can easily be adjusted by turning the front filter ring, so you can determine in advance which additional exposure length is needed. By slowing down your exposure time or widening your aperture, you can control depth of field and convey motion more easily.

This filter is made from optical glass to preserve image clarity and is housed in a slim aluminium profile ring. Due to the specific structure of the filter frame of the Hoya Variable Density II filter, a larger-sized lens cap can be fitted than the size of the filter itself. Allow for one filter size larger for this.
