Protect your photos from overexposure and lens flare with the JJC HR-2. It is suitable for the Nikon 50mm f/1.2 AI-S and NoctAI-S, among others.

A lens hood prevents oblique light entering the front lens and therefore prevents aperture blotches and flare. The latter causes loss of contrast and incorrect light metering. So a lens hood prevents nasty reflections on your lenses and filters that can cause faded colours in your photos.

It is wise to use a lens hood permanently, even indoors. This is because it is not just sunlight but all light. Also from indoor lights and city lights.
