The Kite Optics Stabilised Binoculars BINO APC STABILIZED 12x30 offer the latest technology in binocular image stabilisation. There are other stabilised binoculars on the market, but none can compare to these.
One very important difference is the correction angle. Most contemporary stabilised binoculars offer a correction angle of 0.5° to 1°. That means a correction of 0.8 to 1.7 metres at a distance of 100 metres. Hand tremor, observing on a windy day, or being out of breath after a walk will easily cause image instability greater than these values. The KITE APC stabilised binoculars feature new technology that allows the instrument to correct image stability by 3°, or 5.3 metres at a distance of 100 metres, or 53 metres at 1,000 metres. In other words, six times more. This makes perfectly stable images possible — not only when your hands are shaking, but even from a moving car or a boat in heavy seas.
This highly compact and lightweight instrument is also packed with intelligent features. The electronics are powered by two AA batteries — the world's most common battery format — and ensure the instrument lasts for 36 hours. But to make sure not a single second of those 36 hours goes to waste, the KITE APC binoculars are equipped with sensors that automatically put the electronics into sleep mode when you're not looking through them. The APC (angle power control) function detects the instrument's positioning. When it moves into a vertical position — hanging around your neck or resting on a surface — it enters sleep mode. As soon as it moves into a more horizontal position, stabilisation activates the moment you start observing. No button switching, no accidental battery drain. A timer function ensures it switches off completely after 90 minutes, regardless of its orientation. And a battery indicator gives you timely notice when new batteries are needed.
The APC STABILIZED is ergonomically shaped and features a 4 cm focusing wheel that can easily be operated with three fingers. Although the APC STABILIZED looks different, it is just as straightforward to use as any standard pair of binoculars. The essence of this instrument lies, of course, in its stabilising capability. Optically, it performs at the same level as the KITE PETREL, but under any condition of instability — whether from your own hands, heavy breathing, windy conditions, and so on — these binoculars will outperform the best binoculars in the world, revealing images and details invisible to any standard pair.
The stabilised binoculars are equipped with Kite's APC system. Without needing to press any button, the stabilising electronics are put into sleep mode when the instrument is in its resting position (hanging around your neck), and the device is automatically activated when you start observing again. This results in a significant increase in battery life and ease of use.
With its 2 AA batteries (not included), the stabilisation mechanism can remain active for up to 36 hours. The APC STABILIZED binoculars can also be used perfectly well without activating the stabilisation mechanism.
