The stabilised binoculars are equipped with Kite's APC system (angle power control). Without having to press a button, the stabilising electronics are put into sleep mode when the instrument is in its resting position (hanging around your neck), and the device is automatically activated when you start observing again. This results in a dramatic increase in battery life and ease of use.

The APC 42 binoculars feature 2 battery holders. Each battery holder accommodates two standard AA batteries. One battery holder with 2 functional AA batteries lasts 60 hours. The other compartment holds 2 spare AA batteries. After the first 60 hours, simply swap the batteries and continue for another 60 hours. Intelligent features such as the KITE APC system put the stabilising electronics into sleep mode when the instrument is in its resting position (hanging around your neck), and automatically activate the device when you start observing again. This results in a dramatic increase in battery life and user comfort. And regardless of position (resting or active), the instrument automatically switches off after 90 minutes to conserve energy.

The stabilisation capability of the APC 42 goes beyond suppressing image shake caused by wind or unsteady hands. The stabilisation capacity is 2x to 3x greater than that of other stabilised consumer binoculars. APC-stabilised binoculars feature a military-grade capacity stabilisation system that enables a stable view from moving vehicles, boats, aircraft, and other unstable platforms.

The APC 42 is fully waterproof. The optical system and electronics are sealed, resulting in an IPX7 waterproof rating. It can handle any form of downpour and can even be submerged to a depth of 1 metre for up to 30 minutes. The system is filled with nitrogen gas to prevent internal fogging.
