The Kowa Spotting Scope TSN-66A Prominar with TE-11WZ II WA eyepiece is a compact variant featuring the same fluorite crystal lenses and coatings as the well-known TSN-88A. You're therefore guaranteed an even higher light transmission, resulting in a spotting scope that delivers even higher levels of light wavelength transmission than comparable models with a 66 mm objective. It provides the most natural colour rendition across the entire colour spectrum.
In addition to its compact size, you benefit from a lower weight thanks to a 100 per cent magnesium alloy body, which is also stronger. The TSN-66A is easy to carry and features a fully waterproof, nitrogen-filled housing. An upgrade to the Kowa KR coating on the optics makes the scope incredibly reliable and robust.
Just like the TSN-88 and TSN-99 variants, the body is fitted with a pure fluorite crystal objective lens which, in combination with a Kowa XD lens, delivers superior performance in low light. This special combination, along with the improved optical coatings, virtually eliminates all chromatic aberration, even at high magnification. Because the TSN-66A is equipped with a dual focusing mechanism, the image can be focused quickly and precisely with just your index finger — in only a few smooth rotations. The fine focusing mechanism provides the final control for a razor-sharp view.
Kowa TSN-66A with TE-11WZ II WA Eyepiece
This kit comes with the Kowa TE-11WZ II wide-angle eyepiece. This eyepiece has a magnification of 25x–60x and features two XD lenses, delivering images with outstanding sharpness. The eyepiece is fully waterproof and fitted with a twist-up eyecup with 3 positions, allowing the eye relief to be adjusted. This ensures a comfortable viewing experience for both spectacle wearers and non-spectacle wearers alike.
Chromatic aberration occurs due to the dispersion of light and the different wavelengths of light concentrating at different positions, which can result in a coloured fringe around the subject. The optimal optical material for minimising chromatic aberration is fluorite crystal. For the convex lens of the TSN-66A/66S, a fluorite crystal with extremely low dispersion characteristics is used. Instead of a conventional optical glass lens, the concave lens is made from glass with special dispersive properties in combination with the fluorite crystal lens. This further reduces chromatic aberration. This combination virtually eliminates chromatic aberration entirely and redefines the standards for colour brilliance.
