The Leica APO Summicron-SL 35mm f/2 ASPH is the third compact Leica SL Prime lens. This lens is of premium quality with a 35mm focal length and is therefore suitable for all genres of photography, particularly for portrait and reportage work. Thanks to the L-Mount, this lens is also fully compatible with other cameras featuring the L-Mount.

The Leica Apo-Summicron-SL 35mm F2.0 ASPH. lens is a general wide-angle lens, designed for full-frame mirrorless cameras with L-mount. The clear maximum aperture of f/2 ensures a good balance between speed, weight and size, and offers a portable form factor, together with the possibility to excel in the available light conditions. The apochromatic optical design uses anomalous dispersion glass to suppress color fringes and chromatic aberrations for high brightness and color accuracy. Five aspherical elements are also used to reduce spherical aberrations for improved sharpness. Multi-layer coatings have also been used to limit flare and ghosting for better contrast when working in a lot of light. In addition to the optics is a stepper motor with Dual Syncro Drive, which delivers fast and quiet autofocus performance for both photo and video applications. In addition, an AquaDura coating has been applied to the exposed elements and seals have been incorporated into the lens design to take advantage of working under harsh environmental conditions.
