Metabones Canon EF- Blackmagic BMPCC 4K T Speed Booster Ultra (0.71x)

The Metabones Canon EF- Blackmagic BMPCC 4K T Speed Booster Ultra (0.71x) is designed to attach Canon EF lenses to a Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K camera with MFT attachment. In addition, the adapter's optics help maximize the apparent angle of picture of the connected lens and the camera provides a magnification of 1 stop over the lens aperture range. This 0.71x adapter provides support for Cinema EOS lenses for auto-iris and servo zoom, and also includes AF (autofocus) support that requires external 5V power supply through the micro USB port.

If a lens intended for 35 mm film or full-frame camera sensors of comparable size is connected to a camera with a Micro Four Thirds sensor, it would project a larger image than the Micro Four Thirds sensor is built to accept. Capable of capturing only the centre portion of the projected image would narrow the effective lens angle, creating a crop factor in the camera. The T Speed ??Booster ULTRA 0.71x adapter condenses the light from a lens designed for 35 mm film or ‘full-frame’ camera sensors and projects it onto a Micro Four Thirds sensor. This allows the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K with a Micro Four Thirds sensor to use more of the light collected by a connected lens, effectively reducing the crop factor and giving the sensor an additional 1-stop light for each of the lenses f/stop settings.

This adapter is made of aluminium for durability and minimizes weight, and the attachment rings are made of brass to prevent wear. The internal lens elements are designed to provide both optical brightness and colour fastness, and a detachable step foot is included and features 1/4"-20 threads and compatibility with Arca-Swiss tripod heads.

The T Speed Booster ULTRA 0.71x adapter supports electronic communication between a connected camera and a lens. If the lens includes autofocus, image stabilization, and camera-controlled diaphragm functions, this adapter is intended to use these functions. If a connected lens can generate EXIF metadata when used with a directly compatible camera, the T Speed Booster ULTRA 0.71x adapter is designed to store that information along with image files generated using a combination of the lens, a BMPCC 4K camera and the adapter.
