The 20 megapixel Live MOS sensor and TruePic IX processor deliver sharp, bright images. Thanks to the 5-axis image stabilisation, you do not have to worry about motion blur and you can shoot handheld with ease. With up to 6.5 EV stops of compensation, you can also work with longer shutter speeds. Focusing is fast thanks to face and eye detection. For fast-moving subjects, not only the 5-axis stabilisation comes in handy, but also the Pro Capture function, which records images from before you fully press the shutter button. Shoot in S-AF at up to 30 fps, and in C-AF at up to 10 fps.
The new CP button gives you quick access to the OM-5 II’s most advanced functions. High Res Shot mode makes every photo razor-sharp and rich in detail. Capture handheld photos at up to 50 megapixel RAW, or even 80 megapixel RAW when using a tripod. Thanks to in-camera focus stacking, every part of the image stays sharp, making it perfect for macro photography. You can also use the HDR function, which combines multiple exposures into one evenly bright photo. Especially for outdoor use, the camera includes a range of features that make photography quick and easy. On sunny days, you can use the built-in ND filters. At night, you can rely on Live Composite, Night Vision or Starry Sky AF for shooting in very low light or even near darkness. Videographers can record in 4K resolution at 30 fps. Use OM-Log400 for improved dynamic range, ideal if you like to fine-tune colours in post-production. The new OM-Cinema 1 and 2 colour profiles give your footage a distinctive look.
