The Shure VP88 is designed for professionals working in video, film, and broadcast who want to capture realistic stereo sound. The microphone uses Mid-Side stereo technology (M-S): a recording method in which one microphone captures sound from the front (Mid) and a second microphone captures the side sound (Side). This system allows you to adjust the stereo width during post-production or directly via the microphone itself, without any phase issues.

The VP88 features a built-in matrix switch, letting you choose between a direct left/right stereo signal or a separate M-S signal for maximum flexibility in post-production. Thanks to its condenser design, the microphone is highly sensitive and delivers detailed, true-to-life audio reproduction — ideal for ambient sound, music, interviews, and sound design.
