Because it fits easily in a jacket pocket or camera bag, it is an ideal choice for travel and street photography.

Focusing is fast and accurate thanks to the STM stepper motor with internal focus. Whether you capture active children, playful pets or fleeting street scenes, with eye and face detection your subject stays sharply in view. The smooth, quiet focus transitions and the minimal focus breathing also make the lens excellently suited to video and vlogs. With a minimum focusing distance of 13 cm and a magnification of 0.23x, you create striking foregrounds, plenty of depth and rich close-up detail.

The carefully built optics count 12 elements in 9 groups, including 2 aspherical, 4 ED and 2 HR elements that effectively keep chromatic aberration and distortion under control for exceptional sharpness from edge to edge. The lens has a 58mm filter thread, a sealed, weather-resistant housing and a durable metal mount. The front element is coated to repel water and dirt, and via the USB-C port you effortlessly carry out firmware updates to keep the performance up to date.
