Zhongyi Mitakon 28mm f/5.6 - Sony E
The Zhongyi Mitakon 28mm f/5.6 is a compact, lightweight prime lens. You also stay in full control thanks to manual focus. With 28mm, you capture plenty of atmosphere and context in your frame. The 76° angle of view is wide enough for street, reportage, and travel, but not so wide that everything immediately distorts, as with a fisheye lens. You can focus as close as 35 cm, so you can also photograph subjects up close.
The optical design consists of 8 elements in 7 groups. This delivers a sharp, high-contrast image. Do keep the maximum aperture of f/5.6 in mind: in fairly dark environments such as indoors, you’ll need to switch sooner to a higher ISO or a longer shutter speed. For daytime, this is a great lightweight lens that’s easy to carry with you all day.
Good to know: the lens comes as standard with a Leica M mount, but it is supplied with an additional adapter for other mounts. This means you can also use it on another camera.
