Thanks to f/2.8 you get extra light for night photography and wide astroscapes. And at 14mm you can play with perspective: get close to your subject for a dramatic look, while still keeping the background fully in view.
This lens is fully manual focus (MF). That’s often exactly what you want with ultra-wide work: calm, precise focusing, especially for video, star shots or tripod setups.
The optical design with aspherical elements is built to keep distortion under control and deliver consistent sharpness from center to edge. And with the included 77mm filter holder you can use screw-in filters when needed.
