All about background cloths

As a photographer, if you do a lot of studio photography, nothing is more useful than background cloths. These background cloths help you in creating a calm background without disruptive elements in the photo. Of course, they can not only be used when you photograph in the studio. Because you can also use these background cloths on location. This ensures that you also appear professional away from the studio while shooting new images. Everything is available, from wide rolls of paper to foldable screen constructions with background cloths. These possibilities give you the option to decide your background yourself. 

When do you use background cloths?

You can use background cloths for many different moments. To help you get started, we have listed a few possibilities:

• For portraits, in order to focus all the attention on the subject
• For (commercial) product photos or model photography
• For (series of) recordings which require a particular format for optimum presentation

But the most important thing of all when using background cloths is to do what you feel good about. Because for so many moments it is of added value that we challenge you in particular to produce your own style and make your own choices. 

Useful tips when using background cloths:

  • Via flashes with coloured foil, white backgrounds offer you more variation simply and at an attractive price
  • Neutral black backgrounds are very practical for creative double recording
  • For paper background rolls, it is recommended to use our suspension systems and special tripods in order to prevent damage to the paper.
  • In our range we also have special green backgrounds for key processing with software in order to be able to mount your designs quickly in other displays.
