With an Apple AirTag, you’re less likely to lose your belongings. This set includes no fewer than four Apple AirTags. Attach one to your keys and put another in your bag. In the ‘Find My’ app, you can see them right away on the map, along with the location of your Apple devices and the shared locations of family and friends. Forgot where you left your wallet? No problem if an AirTag is attached. You can play a sound through the built-in speaker. Go to the new Items tab in the ‘Find My’ app or say “Hey Siri. Find my wallet.” If it’s nearby, you just have to follow the sound. If your AirTag is close by, your iPhone can guide you straight to it with ‘Precision Finding’. Thanks to built-in Ultra Wideband technology, you can see exactly which direction to go and how far away it is.
If you’ve left something somewhere completely different, such as at another location, you can track down your AirTag using the ‘Find My’ network. That network consists of hundreds of millions of iPhones, iPads, and Macs around the world. Your privacy is protected on all fronts. Your AirTag sends out a secure Bluetooth signal that can be detected by devices in the ‘Find My’ network. They send your AirTag’s location to iCloud. You can then see on the map in the ‘Find My’ app where it is. This entire process is anonymous and encrypted to protect your privacy. It works very efficiently, so you don’t have to worry about battery life or data usage.
By enabling ‘Lost Mode’, you automatically receive a notification when the AirTag is detected by a device in the network. You can also set it so that the finder receives your contact details as soon as they tap the AirTag with an NFC-enabled smartphone. That way, you can easily get in touch with the finder of your important items.
