Blackmagic ATEM 4 M/E Constellation IP Plus

The ATEM 4 M/E Constellation IP Plus features a redesigned chassis tailored to the needs of high-end broadcasters. The switcher is equipped with front-to-back cooling using four extremely quiet fans. All connections are fully redundant with SMPTE-2022-7 on all video ports, with additional redundancy on the control and PTP Ethernet ports.

A built-in LCD display shows all standard ATEM Constellation status information and provides access to the settings menus. The front panel even includes a headphone socket and a built-in speaker for local programme monitoring. Via a USB-C connector on the front panel, you can perform software updates or connect the ATEM Software Control app.

This standard 4 M/E model features 64 standard converted SMPTE-2022-7 inputs using eight sets of dual, redundant 100G Ethernet connections. There are also 48 SMPTE-2110 outputs, 16 ATEM Advanced Keys, four multiviews and two SuperSource, for a total of 12 DVEs.

The ATEM 4 M/E Constellation IP Plus features multiple SMPTE-2110 connections via 100G Ethernet, each supporting eight input and eight output video channels. The switcher then distributes the inputs and outputs across the multiple 100G Ethernet connections. Each 100G Ethernet connection has two separate connectors that support SMPTE-2110 redundancy, allowing you to connect each port to a separate network switch.

SMPTE 2022-7 Seamless Protection Switching transmits two identical copies of video and audio across the connections. On the receiving end, it compares the incoming RTP packets based on their sequence number and reconstructs a perfect video image from whichever pixel packet arrives first.
