The Blackmagic Ethernet Switch 820 is designed for SMPTE 2110 video, a widely used technology in the film and television industry, and delivers extremely high performance with eight fast 100G Ethernet QSFP ports. The device features a ventilated design at the front and rear with redundant power supply and is equipped with two fast 10G Ethernet ports, two PTP clock ports, a 1G control port and a 1G management port.

Blackmagic Ethernet Switch 820

All ports are conveniently located at the rear of the unit for easy cabling, making it ideal for use in mobile kits and small broadcast vehicles. You can now build small 2110 IP systems, such as mobile kits or small broadcast vehicles. The 2110 multicast settings are configured via a simple router panel, meaning no IT technician is required and there are no complex multicast settings to deal with.

You get 10G Ethernet ports for connecting HyperDeck ISO recorders and DaVinci Resolve workstations. You can then connect a Blackmagic Cloud Store Ultra to the extremely fast 100G Ethernet ports.

The dedicated management port makes it possible to use the Blackmagic Ethernet Switch Utility software for status monitoring and software updates. This port is isolated from the control, video, and audio networks, so it does not interfere with operations. Download Blackmagic Ethernet Utility free of charge for macOS or Windows.

Two redundant PTP clock Ethernet ports ensure accurate SMPTE 2110 time synchronisation. If one connection fails, the second port seamlessly maintains the timing signal. You can also connect two separate grandmaster clocks for added reliability in the event of equipment failures or cable breaks.
