Blackmagic PYXIS 6K Camera (Arri PL)
The Blackmagic PYXIS 6K camera takes all your films from standard film quality to Steven Spielberg movies. The built-in Full-frame 6K sensor ensures that rich colours and accurate skin tones burst from the screen. You film in 6K Open Gate 3:2 video at 36 fps or 6K anamorphic 6:5 video at 60 fps. All film files can be saved in both Blackmagic RAW and H.265 proxy files in the cloud or streamed to your social media via Ethernet or 4G/5G technology.
The Full-frame 6K sensor has a resolution of 6048 x 4032, allowing you to film in shallow depth of field or use anamorphic lenses without having to crop. Your films always have a cinematic look. The dynamic range of the 13 stops and an ISO up to 25,600 ensures that your recordings contain as little noise as possible under any lighting conditions. You have a lot of creative freedom over your footage thanks to an extensive colour range and included DaVinci Resolve Studio code.
Make your Blackmagic PYXIS your own
You can make the Blackmagic PYXIS camera completely your own. For example, on the side of the camera there are a number of 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 connections for accessories such as monitors, microphones and mounting arms. There is also an SSD plate on which you can attach an external hard drive or a mobile device. If that is not enough, you can choose to purchase the optional rosette plate for more mounting points.
In addition to the fact that you can add a zip of accessories, you can also easily master the controls. The built-in 4" LCD touchscreen allows you to check, frame and focus your shots. The LCD screen has an HD resolution and a maximum brightness of 1500 cd/m2, making the screen easy to read even in the sunniest conditions. You can also easily make adjustments, such as white balance, ISO and shutter speeds, via the screen, the dial and the function buttons.
Connectivity in abundance
The Blackmagic PYXIS 6K camera has several connection points. For example, there is a USB-C port for the optional Cine EVF and a mini 3-pin XLR analogue audio output for an external microphone. This camera also has a headphone and monitor connection. There is room for an external monitor thanks to the 12G-SDI output. The Reference/Timecode input port syncs your sources, while an RJ45 Ethernet connection uploads footage to Blackmagic Cloud or controls the camera.
