Canon EOS R body

Canon EOS R body

The Canon EOS R is Canon's first full frame mirrorless camera. With the innovative technology in this first camera from Canon's R series, you capture and film the finest details. This is made possible in part by the 31.7 Megapixel CMOS sensor. The body is compact and features an ergonomically designed grip. As a result, the camera sits just as comfortably in your hand as you may be used to from Canon's DSLR cameras. One big change is the lens mount of this camera. The new RF lens mount is designed for a perfect optical, mechanical and electronic design. The RF lens mount and the DUAL Pixel CMOS AF deliver excellent optical performance, fast autofocus (0.05 seconds) and fast communication between the camera and the lens. The EOS R system is characterised by speed, ergonomics and superior image quality.

Thanks to the innovative technology, you can shoot photos and film in very low light conditions with accurate focusing. With this mirrorless camera, you benefit from the flexibility of its discreet size. The EOS R also lets you shoot photos and film silently in 4K image quality. The Canon EOS R offers refined ease of use, an electronic viewfinder and extensive customisation options. By using the optional EF-RF Mount Adapter, the EOS R is also compatible with current EF and EF-S lenses.

Since April 2020, Canon has offered an upgrade service for the EOS R for stop-motion animation. This is a paid service carried out by the Canon service centres.
