The DJI SDR Transmission 2 is a wireless video transceiver for professional film sets that transmits DCI 4K/60fps 10-bit HDR wirelessly to up to eight receivers at once, with a latency of just 35 milliseconds. A single transmitter serves an entire crew — director, focus puller and multiple monitors — without anyone missing a frame.

The unit can be used both as a transmitter (TX) and as a receiver (RX), giving you a lot of flexibility when building your set. Auto Channel 2.0 handles channel management automatically: as soon as you set the channel mode to 'Auto', the transceivers recognize each other, scan the spectrum and switch frequency when interference threatens. This also works when several groups are shooting side by side. If you prefer to pick a channel yourself, you can do so manually via the display or the DJI Ronin app.

Adding a new camera to the feed requires no pairing process: scan, connect, done. That way you switch quickly between camera positions without interrupting the shoot. The system works on 2.4 GHz, 5.2 GHz, 5.8 GHz and DFS frequencies, with a maximum transmission range of 4 kilometers under ideal conditions and a maximum bitrate of 50 Mbps.

The SDR Transmission 2 fits seamlessly into the Ronin ecosystem: it works with the DJI RS 5, RS 4, RS 4 Pro, RS 3 Pro, Ronin 2 and Master Wheels. Mounted on an RS stabilizer it is powered by the gimbal battery, so you do not need a separate power source. Please note: for use with the RS 4, RS 4 Pro or RS 3 Pro you need the separately available Gimbal Control Cable (USB-C to CAN); for the Ronin 2 or Master Wheels the Gimbal Control Cable (USB-C to 4-pin). Connection to the RS 5 is made with a standard USB-C cable. When the transceiver is attached to a stabilizer via the quick-release plate, a native vertical setup is not possible.

Via the HDMI or DP port (lower USB-C) the unit transmits DCI 4K/60fps with HDR. SDI output is available through the separately available Expansion Plate. The DJI Ronin app offers professional monitoring tools such as LUT, histogram, waveform and false color. Good to know: the SDR Transmission 2 cannot be combined with earlier DJI SDR Transmission or DJI Transmission products in the same network.
