The Explore Scientific Sun Catcher Solar Filter for 110-130mm telescopes is a completely safe white light solar filter for observing, for example, the movements of sunspots, planetary transits, eclipses and fly-bys of aircraft.

The special film "Solarlite" placed in the Sun Catcher solar filters reliably protects the eye from infrared, ultraviolet and visible light during solar observation. Only the sun's "attenuated" light, which is harmless to the eyes, passes through and appears as a beautiful image in the eyepiece. Of course, these solar filters are also ideal for taking photos of the sun.

The special film Solarlite is produced by the well-known company Thousand Oaks Optical in the US and guarantees absolutely safe use through certification according to ISO12312-2. Solarlite offers the optical quality of a high-quality glass solar filter and the insensitivity of a polymer filter film.

Please note that all Explore Scientific solar filters are tested according to ISO12312-2. Therefore, Solarlite received approval from Thousand Oaks Optical for direct observation of the sun.
