The Irix Cine Lens 45mm T1.5 for MFT is a mid-range focal length lens. It consists of 11 elements in 9 groups, including 4 high-refraction elements, one extra-low dispersion lens and one aspherical lens. This ensures crisp details, vivid colours and very low distortion of less than 0.5%.

The housing of this lens has been specially designed for video use, featuring an all-weather seal with a fixed rear lens element. This prevents the rear of the lens from being susceptible to dust.

The values and settings can be read from the side of the lens, as a filmmaker often works as part of a team — making them easy to check at a glance. The aperture ring has a rotation of 75 degrees and features 9 aperture blades. The focus ring has a throw of 180 degrees and is equipped with industry-standard .8 pitch gears for a follow focus. The adaptive ring can be rotated to give your follow focus more room — this works particularly well with electronic flow focus systems.

The lens has a standard 95mm mount for a matte box and a 86mm thread for front filters. The T1.5 light transmission rating stands for transmission — the actual amount of light reaching the sensor. An F-stop refers to the opening of your aperture.

The cine version is available for Canon, Sony E, MFT and PL Mount and covers a Large Format sensor. It easily covers the sensor of an EOS R as well as a RED Monstro or Sony Venice. It can also be used on an MFT or Super-35 sensor with a 2x or 1.6x crop.
