The Laowa 105mm F2 Smooth Trans Focus Lens is a short telephoto lens that is primarily designed for your full-frame Sony camera with E-mount. This lens is also suitable for APS-C models, with an equivalent focal length of 168mm.

The unique optical design includes an apodization (APD) element as well as two separate diaphragms with 8 and 14 blades that provide smooth bokeh course in addition to full control of exposure and depth of field. It produces more circular out-of-focus highlights with a pleasant selective focus for shallow depth of field effects.

This APD element acts as a radially graduated neutral density filter, which, as such, according to the limits of the light transmission has a T-stop-value of 3.2. In addition to the authorized field of depth of this lens a selective focus is posed on the qualities of a real f / 2 design.
