Prime lenses
A prime lens has a fixed focal length, providing razor-sharp images and a large maximum aperture. Ideal for portraits and low-light situations. The fixed perspective allows you to learn to frame more creatively.

At Photospecialist, you’ll find a wide range of camera lenses. Whether you're looking for a telephoto lens, macro lens, or the perfect zoom lens, we're here to help you make the right choice!
The lens is the part of the camera that allows light to pass through onto your camera's sensor. This determines the field of view, sharpness, and depth of your photos. Each type of lens is suitable for a different kind of photography, so choosing the right lens can be a challenging task.
When buying a lens, it's important to know which lenses fit your camera, as not every lens is compatible with every camera. Therefore, it's crucial to check the lens mount and sensor size of your camera before you make a choice.
We offer lenses for the following lens mounts:
EF-Mount | RF-Mount | E-Mount | Z-Mount | F-Mount | MFT-Mount | X-Mount | G-Mount | L-Mount
Want a lens from the same brand as your camera? We offer the following brands:
Nikon lenses | Sony lenses | Tamron lenses | Canon lenses | Fujifilm lenses | Panasonic lenses | Sigma lenses | Olympus lenses | Pentax lenses
For every photography style, there is a perfect lens. Whether you want to capture the wide world of landscapes, freeze the action in sports, or photograph the subtle details of a flower, there’s always a lens to meet your needs.
Want to know more about which lens best suits your camera or photography style? Contact us via customer service. At Photospecialist, we’re happy to help you with personalised advice!
Why do I need a lens?
Each lens creates a different image due to variations in focal length, depth of field, and aperture. A wide-angle lens captures expansive landscapes, while a telephoto lens brings distant subjects closer. By changing lenses, you can explore different types of photography—from portraits to nature photography—using the same camera body. This allows you to maximize both your camera’s potential and your creativity.
What is a lens mount?
The mount is the connection that attaches a lens to a camera. Each camera brand has specific mounts, such as Canon RF, Nikon Z, and Sony E-mount. The right mount ensures the lens works properly with the camera and supports all its features. Always check lens compatibility before making a purchase.
Can I use the same lens for multiple types of photography?
Yes, some lenses are versatile enough for multiple photography styles, depending on their focal length and aperture. A zoom lens with a variable range, like a 24-70mm, works well for both portraits and landscapes. A 50mm prime lens is excellent for both street photography and portraits. However, for specialized photography—such as macro or sports—dedicated lenses are recommended as they are designed for extreme close-ups or distant subjects.
What is the difference between different focal lengths?
Focal length (measured in mm) determines how much of a scene is captured and how large the subject appears. Wide-angle lenses (10-35mm) are perfect for landscapes and architecture. Standard lenses (35-85mm) provide a natural perspective and are ideal for portraits. Telephoto lenses (85mm and above) bring distant subjects closer, making them great for sports and wildlife photography. A zoom lens offers flexibility, while a prime lens is often sharper and has a larger aperture.
What do the abbreviations on a lens mean?
Lenses often include abbreviations indicating their technology and specifications: • IS (Image Stabilization) / VR (Vibration Reduction): Reduces camera shake. • USM (Ultrasonic Motor) / AF-S (Auto Focus Silent): Fast and quiet autofocus motor. • f/2.8, f/4, f/5.6: Maximum aperture size; a lower number means more light intake. • Macro: Designed for extreme close-up photography. • ED (Extra-low Dispersion) / ASP (Aspherical Lens): Enhances image quality and reduces distortion.
