The Nikon NIKKOR Z 28-135mm f/4 PZ is an innovative full-frame video lens with power zoom, designed specifically for professional videographers and filmmakers. This versatile lens combines a wide focal length range with advanced technologies and also supports high-definition 8K footage. The 8K support provides plenty of flexibility for cropping in post-production and outputting to 4K. The yellow ring around the lens mount identifies it as a Z-mount video lens, making it compatible with a wide range of professional video accessories, including matte boxes and follow focus systems.

This lens is optimised for smooth and precise zoom operation, with 11 different zoom speeds that can be assigned to the zoom switch. The internal motor ensures a stable centre of gravity and smooth super-zoom across a focal length range of 28–135mm, keeping shots on a gimbal or handheld effortless. Ease-in and ease-out deliver a natural transition when starting and stopping zoom movements, without the need for an external motorised zoom unit.

With an advanced optical design comprising 18 elements in 13 groups — including ED and aspherical elements — this lens delivers exceptional clarity and minimal distortion. The high-quality glass and optical coatings of the NIKKOR further contribute to this, reducing reflections, ghosting and flare even when shooting in bright light or against the light. Focus breathing is suppressed, ensuring a consistent angle of view during focus adjustments.

Precise and flexible control

Linear manual focus enables accurate, repeatable focus adjustments. The focus and zoom rings can be customised to personal preference via the camera menu, and the lens is compatible with follow focus systems thanks to the standard 0.8 mm gear pitch. There is also a zoom position lock function, making it easy to switch quickly between framings. With a minimum focus distance of 0.34 m, you can capture dynamic close-ups.

Robust and versatile

Weighing just 1,210 g (including tripod mount), the Nikon NIKKOR Z 28-135mm f/4 PZ is light enough for handheld shooting and suitable for gimbal use.
