The Nikon Sound Blimp is a soft sound-dampening housing for photographers who want to work quietly at concerts, theatre performances, ballet performances or other situations where shutter movements are distracting. The housing fits over all Nikon DSLR cameras and significantly reduces shutter and zoom noise.

Nikon Sound Blimp

The Nikon Sound Blimp is a soft housing made of polyester, nylon and polyurethane that greatly reduces the shutter and zoom sounds of your Nikon DSLR. It is intended for situations where camera noise is distracting or disruptive, such as concert photography, theatre recordings, ballet photography or film set stills. The housing consists of two parts: a housing for the camera body and a separate cover for the lens. Through the integrated hand openings, you can operate the camera and lens controls while the camera is fully inside the blimp. A mounting point on the underside allows attachment to a tripod.

The body housing is compatible with all Nikon DSLR cameras. When using the body housing and lens cover together, IF lenses (Internal Focusing) must be used, as the lens focuses entirely internally and the lens barrel does not extend during focusing. The total weight is approximately 1150 grams including carrying bag.
