Pentax AF 180 FG flash

The Pentax AF 180 FG flash is a compact automatic flash, featuring dustproof, weatherproof construction and simplified operation. This flash is a valuable accessory that not only brings light into dark rooms, but also offers creative options for image composition, such as bounce flash. It supports the P-TTL function of Pentax Digital SLR and GRIII series cameras and therefore offers accurate exposure control.

This flash features a simplified control system that allows the user to start flash photography immediately by turning the discharge mode dial, which also serves as an ON/OFF switch. In addition to the OFF position, this dial offers a choice of four discharge modes: P-TTL automatic flash with sync on the first curtain and P-TTL automatic flash with sync on the second curtain, where the preliminary flash is detected by the camera's light sensor to accurately control the main discharge level for correct exposure; and manual flash with full discharge and manual flash with discharge at 1/4 level.

The flash head can be vertically adjusted to 10 different angles (-10, 0, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 105, 120 and 135 degrees) for indirect flash. By bouncing the flash discharge off the ceiling or wall during indoor shots, the user can soften the subject's shadow to create more natural, lifelike portraits.

This flash unit has a built-in wide-angle panel on top of the flash head. If required, it can even be illuminated at a 98° angle at close range.

The dustproof, weatherproof design with 18 sealing elements throughout the housing, including the hot shoe, makes this compact flash suitable for universal use.

The AF180FG fits all camera housings of the Pentax digital SLR K-system and Ricoh GRIII models.
