The Plustek SmartOffice PS4080U is a departmental-class document scanner capable of simplex and duplex scanning. With a built-in automatic document feeder, it is highly efficient at performing duplex scans of a stack of double-sided documents. In simplex scanning mode, the SmartOffice PS4080U can scan up to 40 pages per minute and 80 images per minute in duplex mode. The automatic document feeder, meanwhile, has a huge capacity of 100 Sheets. All these features make the SmartOffice PS4080U scanner an essential part of any digital office.
The SmartOffice PS4080U combines fast document feeding with the advantage of robust paper handling and is an ideal choice for workgroups with demanding workloads and limited budgets. Plastic and other rigid cards such as ID cards, driving licenses, membership cards and insurance cards, as well as long documents up to 200 inches are scanned without extra adjustments or additional settings. Advanced image processing and a high daily duty cycle combine to create the perfect departmental scanning solution for document management, content management and form processing applications. The SmartOffice PS4080U also features an automatic wake-up function that allows Users to easily insert Paper into the scanner to bring the scanner out of sleep/standby mode.
With its built-in ultrasonic multi-feed detection function, the SmartOffice PS4080U scanner prevents multi-feeds by checking the thickness of documents and detecting overlapping pages. When a multi-feed is detected, the scan stops and an alert message is displayed. This feature is enabled by default to automatically improve the scanning experience and results. However, when scanning Paper with labels, sticky notes, pasted receipts or plastic cards, the ultrasonic function can be switched off to avoid false detection.
Operating the SmartOffice PS4080U is easy with Plustek's exclusive DocAction software application. Users only need to place the document correctly on the scanner and press the "Scan" button. Best of all, the scanned image can then be sent directly to the desired destination application.
