The Samyang 50mm F1.4 AF Sony FE II is a bright prime lens for full-frame and APS-C cameras with Sony E-mount. This version is the successor to the 50mm F1.4 AF, the first autofocus lens that Samyang released in 2016.

The optical design of this second-generation 50mm f/1.4 AF has been improved over its predecessor. With 11 elements in 8 groups (2 ASP, 3 HR and 1 ED), you achieve optimal image sharpness. In addition, the housing has become more compact with a length of 88.9 mm and a weight of 420 grams. That makes the lens the smallest and lightest 50 mm wide-aperture lens available for Sony FE\*. With 50 mm, the prime lens is extremely suitable for portrait, architecture or documentary photography, for example. When used with a full-frame camera, the angle of view is 45.7°, while with APS-C it is 31.1°.

The fast autofocus is quiet and smooth by means of Samyang's Linear STM (Stepping Motor), something that both photographers and videographers can be satisfied with. Focus breathing is also kept to a minimum for the video makers. With the aperture fully open, you can take photos with a beautiful background blur, which makes your subject stand out from the background. The 9 aperture blades provide a natural bokeh. The minimum focusing distance of 40 cm makes the lens widely deployable. For example, use it for close-up portraits or food shots.
