The Sony FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM E-Mount is a new full-frame lens for the E-mount camera system. The FE 16–35 mm constant F2.8GM wide-angle zoom lens combines the incredibly high resolution and beautiful Bokeh of the G Master series with a focal length range of 16–35mm. The lens is particularly suitable for landscapes, cityscapes, portraits and more. The FE 16–35mm F2.8 GM is the first G Master model with wide-angle zoom, making it ideal for various shooting situations - landscapes, architecture, close-ups, sports, action and much more. Thanks to its lightweight and compact design, it is also very portable and easy to use. The new lens offers exceptional sharpness from corner to corner. The optical design includes five aspherical elements, of which there are two original XA elements (extreme aspherical) that reduce aberration and create the optimal resolution across the complete zoom and focal range.

The FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM features the largest XA element ever and guarantees the best quality. In addition, two ED (Extra Low Dispersion) glass elements are used, which limit the chromatic aberration and optimize the resolution. Sony's original Nano AR coating suppresses internal reflections to ensure outstanding image contrast and beautiful clarity. The XA element, in combination with the 11 diaphragm blades, makes that subjects are sharp in focus while the background is faded with bokeh effect. In addition, the lens has two DDSSMs (Direct Drive Super Sonic wave Motor) that make a floating focus system and make the AF fast, quiet and accurate – thus, it is the ideal choice for shooting both pictures and movies.
