With the Tiffen 82mm SR Polarizer Filter you reduce reflections and glare from non-metallic surfaces, such as water and glass. The filter orders the polarised light and absorbs a large part of it, so you get less glare and fewer reflections in the image.

Daylight scatters in the atmosphere and causes a hazy veil in landscapes. This polarising filter filters that scattered light, which increases colour saturation: the sky turns a deeper colour and foliage looks more vivid, while the haze decreases.

Tiffen makes this filter with ColorCore technology, in which the filter substrate is laminated between two pieces of optical glass. Each filter is ground flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000 inch and set in a precisely milled metal ring.

This is a linear polarising filter, intended for cameras with manual focus and light metering without an internal beam splitter, such as view cameras and lenses with manual focus. You screw the filter onto the 82 mm filter thread of your lens.
