Vixen Porta II azimuthal mount
The Vixen Porta II is an azimuthal mount in award-winning Vixen quality. It impresses with its simplicity, versatility and reliability. It comes complete with fine adjustment handles for accurate tracking of celestial bodies. The dovetail mounting system (Vixen Standard) ensures maximum compatibility of a wide range of telescopes. The Porta II does not require a clamp, it has a slip clutch, making it easy to adjust the mount to an object. It automatically holds its position and is therefore very easy for anyone to use.
The Porta II mount can be disassembled by removing a single screw, making it very portable.
The Porta II adjustment system offers circle-slow motion. The handles for elevation and azimuth slowmotion can be changed in 45° increments. This allows the user to adjust the handles to a comfortable position, whatever size optical tube is used.
The accessory holder features cut-outs for your eyepieces. It can also be used as a shelf to hold smaller photo accessories. Mounting of the holder is done via a centre-mounted screw.
To adjust the friction of the slip clutch, a tool is already built into the mount. It is stored under the rubber cover of the mount and is quickly accessible.
