UV filters are ideal for photography at high altitudes, by the sea and in areas with very clean air. The photos gain in brilliance and the disturbing blue cast is avoided. Apart from the disappearance of the blue cast, nothing changes in the photos. The color reproduction remains the same and there is no need to extend the exposure time. The UV filter is therefore also very suitable for permanent mounting on the lens. You screw this for the front lens to protect it against sand, seawater, dust and the like. In most cases, you would rather replace the filter than a much more expensive lens.
