Audio recorders

An audio recorder is a technical device used to record acoustic sounds, which can then be played back multiple times whenever you want. Today, audio is also recorded with mobile devices, dictation machines or answering machines. In most cases the sound is recorded via integrated microphones.

Thomas Alva Edison is the inventor of the first audio recorder. The device he developed made it possible to record sounds and tones for the first time and to play them back later. In the following years the device was further developed into the gramophone and later into the vinyl record.
