Panasonic Lumix DC-S5 IIX

The Panasonic Lumix S5 IIX is an addition to the popular LUMIX S series. The system camera has incredible photo and video performance in an attractive, compact design. Compared to the LUMIX S5 II, the LUMIX S5 IIX goes the extra mile for the professional videographer in a sleek, matte black design. The S5 IIX has a 24 megapixel 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor that transmits a lot of light and provides razor-sharp images. The sensor in combination with the advanced image processor ensures excellent image quality for both photo and video recordings.

Reliable autofocus and stabilization

The updated image sensor supports hybrid phase detection autofocus for the first time in the LUMIX line. The hybrid autofocus system combines phase detection with contrast detection for fast and reliable focus. The new system can easily recognize subjects, even in challenging conditions such as when there is little light. Once the focus is established, it continues to follow the subject across the screen. Continuous autofocus is also available when you zoom in, as well as AF micro adjustments.

The LUMIX S5IIX has significantly improved image stabilization so that you can also take stable, strong shots by hand. Active image stabilization is very useful in challenging conditions, such as when using a telephoto lens or when filming while walking. The active image stabilization also ensures very stable videos by optimizing horizontal, vertical and rotation correction.

Exceptional video performance

The system camera has exceptional video performance comparable to the LUMIX S1H. For example, you can film in 4:2:0 10-bit 6K (3:2) and 5.9K (16:9) at 30 fps and 4:2:2 C4K/4K at 60 fps. You can easily record in a High Frame Rate at up to 120 fps and in slow motion at up to 180 fps. You can use different colour profiles such as 14+ stop V-log and V-Gamut. The support of a REAL TIME LUT function means you can upload colour correction LUTs to an SD card and add them directly on camera instead of during post-processing.

For the real videographers

The S5 IIX goes even further in terms of video than the S5 II. The LUMIX S5 IIX is capable of making 5.8K Apple ProRes and C4K RAW or All-intra recordings to an SSD or recorder. The camera is compatible with wireless and wired IP streaming and USB tethering. The S5 IIX can record in C4K 30p 4:2:2 10-bit, where the S5 II records in 4:2:0. 4K S and Q Slow motion are also recorded on the S5IIX with 4:2:2 chroma subsampling for excellent colour depth. For professional videographers, features such as Waveform Monitor, Vector Scope and Zebra Pattern have been added. Features such as System Frequency (24.00Hz) and Synchro Scan also make this camera suitable for professional use.

Excellent photos with minimal workflow

The camera has several options that give you excellent photos with minimal workflow. Features such as AWB lock, MF assist and a new Live Crop function provide a highly refined photographic experience. An HDMI type-A and USB 3.2 gen 2 connection provide extensive connectivity options. The Panasonic Lumix S 20-60mm F3.5/5.6 L holder is a compact and light standard zoom lens that can be used very versatile thanks to the zoom range of 20 mm to 60 mm. The wide viewing angle at 20 mm makes this lens ideal for locations where space is limited and 60 mm is ideal for portraits, for example. The Lumix S 20-60mm F3.5/5.6 has a minimum focusing distance of only 15 centimeters and you can also capture smooth video images without any problems. This is made possible by a mechanism that ensures suppression of focus breathing. The optical construction consists of 11 lenses in 9 groups and the use of two aspherical lenses and three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses suppresses both axial chromatic aberration and chromatic aberration due to magnification. The aspherical lenses also correct for astigmatism, resulting in extremely clear images. In addition, a UHR (Ultra-High Refractive Index) lens ensures uniform image quality from the center to the edges of the image. This lens is easy to carry due to its weight of only 350 grams and the design is also dust and splash-proof. The Panasonic Lumix S 50mm f/1.8 is a prime lens with a large maximum aperture of f/1.8 that is suitable for the L-holder system. This lens is the second addition of four lenses in the Lumix S series that are the same size and have the same position of controls, which is very practical to use. The optical construction of the Lumix S 50mm f/1.9 consists of nine lens elements in eight groups, including three aspherical lenses, an ED (Extra Low Dispersion) lens and a UHR (Ultra-High Refractive Index) lens. The three aspherical lenses provide excellent image reproduction as well as beautiful bokeh effects. The ED lens effectively minimizes chromatic aberration.
