For more control, you can shoot images in 4:2:2 10-bit video and fine-tune in post-production. The S-log 3 image profile and XAVC S-I recording format also provide additional creative possibilities.

Positioned as the workhorse among APS-C lenses, the Sony E 16-55mm f/2.8 G lens is a flexible wide-angle zoom lens with a bright fixed aperture of f/2.8. This fast design is ideal for working in different lighting conditions across the entire zoom range and also offers greater control over depth of field.
This lens is distinguished by 4 aspherical elements and 3 extra-low dispersion elements to minimise spherical and chromatic aberrations. This results in improved sharpness and clarity. To combat surface reflections and flare, a Nano AR coating has been applied. This provides better contrast when working in bright and backlight conditions.
An advantage of the optics is that the lens is equipped with an XD linear motor that is quiet and fast. The lens also offers more responsive manual focusing.
