The Blackmagic Design UltraStudio Express Monitor 3G is a compact output-only card that plays back video to 3G-SDI and HDMI in all SD and HD video standards up to 1080p60. The USB4 connection lets you connect it to Mac, Windows, and Linux computers with a USB4 or Thunderbolt 4 port. The card draws power via the USB cable, so it also works on a laptop battery. This makes it a practical solution for monitoring editing work on location or in a mobile studio setup.
The 10-bit video output in 4:2:2 YUV or RGB delivers broadcast-quality images for monitoring from popular editing software such as DaVinci Resolve or broadcast graphics software. The UltraStudio Express Monitor 3G works via the DeckLink API and is compatible with virtually all popular video software, including DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Fusion. A free SDK for Mac, Windows, and Linux is available for developers.
