Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K LF + EVF
Capture the essence of your story with a truly cinematic look and feel with the Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K LF + EVF kit, comprising the URSA Cine 12K LF camera with the EVF top grip kit. The new URSA Cine 12K features a stunning new cinematic 12K Full-frame 36 x 24mm sensor with an advertized 16-stop dynamic range and Blackmagic RAW recording up to 12K 3:2 open port. The set includes an adjustable top grip with a bright, powerful USB-C EVF. The versatile camera features Wi-Fi and SRT live-streaming, built-in ND filters, standard LEMO and Fischer control/power connections, high-speed cloud storage networking and M.2 SSD media, and comes standard with an industry-standard PL mount.
The URSA Cine camera features a revolutionary new sensor designed to deliver incredible quality images at all resolutions from 4K all the way up to 12K. The larger sensor builds on the technology of the URSA Mini Pro 12K with larger photosites resulting in a dynamic range of 16 stops. The unique RGBW architecture features equal amounts of RED, GREEN and BLUE pixels. This means it’s optimised to deliver incredibly rich colours at all resolutions, providing the ultimate in image quality and flexibility. Now you can capture more detail with a wider dynamic range than ever before. Plus, increased scaling in the sensor means you can shoot at all resolutions without cropping.
The URSA Cine is designed to meet the demands of any high-end production. The evenly weighted camera body is built with a robust magnesium alloy chassis and lightweight carbon fibre-polycarbonate composite skin, allowing you to move quickly on set. Soft-touch backlit buttons make controls easy to see in all conditions. There’s a fold-out 5-inch touchscreen for reviewing shots and accessing camera settings, plus a dedicated auxiliary station on the other side of the camera, with a 5-inch LCD screen and full camera control. Standard LEMO and Fischer connectors let you control the camera remotely while also supplying power to the lens motors and other accessories. You also get 12G-SDI output, 10G Ethernet, USB-C, XLR audio and more.
URSA Cine’s large format sensor offers ultimate flexibility across aspect ratios, lenses and delivery formats. The Full-frame sensor area gives you a stunning 3:2 open-gate view, allowing you to reframe your shots in post-production. Or you can use the large sensor area to shoot and deliver anamorphic footage in a range of aspect ratios with 1.3, 1.5, 1.6, 1.66, 1.8 and 2x de-squeeze factors. What’s more, you can shoot in 4K, 8K, or 12K with the full sensor without cropping, preserving the full field of view of your lenses. There are even 9K Super35 4-perf, 3-perf, and 2-perf modes for full compatibility with vintage cinema lenses. This allows you to create distinctive content in the highest quality.
Different projects require different lenses. That’s why URSA Cine features an interchangeable lens mount. You can quickly switch between PL, LPL, EF, and Hasselblad mounts. This means you can work with PL or LPL cinema lenses, EF, or large-format Hasselblad photographic lenses, making URSA Cine compatible with the widest range of professional lenses. Imagine using modern high-speed lenses for sharp, precise images on one shoot, and then filming a period drama with vintage photographic lenses the next. In addition, each mount has contact pins to read the lens metadata for monitoring and post-production use. With URSA Cine, you have the freedom to choose the lens you need for any type of work.
URSA Cine lets crews work faster on set with multiple monitoring options. The flip-out monitor has a large 5” HDR touchscreen on one side and an external colour status LCD on the other. You can even rotate the screen and fold it back into the camera. On the right side of the camera is a dedicated assistant station with a second 5” HDR touchscreen that lets crews work around the camera without the need for external monitors. Plus, the 1500 cd/m² screen and removable lens hood keep it visible, even in bright sunlight. On-screen overlays show status and shooting parametres, histogram, framing guides, and more. There’s even a special focus puller mode to help you get perfect focus.
The URSA Cine’s wide range of industry-standard connections make it perfect for high-end cinema production. The 7-pin LEMO and 3-pin Fischer connectors on the front provide record start/stop and 24V power, making them ideal for on-board accessories such as focus motors. Power is supplied to the camera via a standard 24V 8-pin LEMO connection, plus an additional 2-pin LEMO 12V connection on the rear for lower voltage accessories. All of this means you can connect accessories straight from the camera, without the need for messy external cabling. There are also two independent 12G-SDI outputs for monitoring on two separate monitors with different overlays, plus 10G Ethernet for Blackmagic Cloud media syncing.
The URSA Cine includes the Blackmagic URSA Cine EVF for precise and easy outdoor and handheld shooting. You get an integrated high-quality 1920 x 1080 colour OLED display with a built-in proximity sensor and 4-element glass diopter for incredible accuracy with wide focus adjustment. A built-in digital focus diagram ensures you get the perfect viewfinder focus setting. You can also view critical status information such as framing guides. The URSA Cine EVF is easy to connect, as it simply mounts onto the supplied viewfinder bracket and connects to the camera with a single USB-C cable. The viewfinder can be positioned in multiple ways and comes with two different types of eyecups.
